What We Believe

"...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty." - II Corinthians 3:17

What we believe

God's Word

We accept and adhere to the Apostolic and the Nicene Creeds, and in addition thereto, the Unaltered Augsburg confession and Luther’s Small Catechism. We seek to follow these confessions in all areas of preaching and teaching.

The Trinity

We affirm the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds as faithful expressions of the teaching of Scripture. These historic confessions are especially clear on the person and work of the Trinity.
There is one God in three persons—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Sacraments

We call these acknowledge these sacraments as means of grace—second only to the Word of God.

The Church

As seen clearly in Acts and the teachings of Paul, God’s chosen method is to gather believers into the local church that is part of the true Church—all believers everywhere.
This local church we regularly refer to as the body of Christ (or congregation) in which Christ is the head and we are the members. As the place where God uniquely promises His presence, we recognize the congregation as the right form of the Kingdom of God on earth.

Marriage and family

Based on the clear teaching of Scripture, we recognize marriage as the union between one man and one woman—biological realities given by God at conception.
Family is the beautiful institution of God where children grow in healthy relationship, wisdom, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord.
